Renault is inviting customers at maison renault on Oxford Street to get in the hot seat and prove they have what it takes to beat professional driver and automotive influencer Becky Evans - ‘Queen B’ – on a simulator challenge.
Taking place at Future Stores and running until the 25th April, the interactive challenge will give guests the chance to test their driving skills on a simulator modelled on the star of maison renault – the forthcoming, 555 hp Renault 5 Turbo 3E – with Evans laying down the time to beat in front of a live audience on Saturday 18th April.
There will be prizes for visitors who set the best laps. Whoever tops the leaderboard at the close of the nine-day event will win two ground admission tickets to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, while there will also be radio control Renault 5 Turbo 3E models for those that set the fastest time on each day. Spot prizes will also be given if people beat Evans’s time.
With millions of followers across social media and a reputation for combining car culture with accessible, engaging content, Evans has become one of the UK’s most recognisable automotive personalities. Her recent collaboration with Renault has seen her behind the wheel of the iconic original Renault 5 Turbo, as well as starring in content linked to the electrifying Renault 5 Turbo 3E.
Her appearance forms part of the wider maison renault experience, which brings together Renault 5 E-Tech electric, Renault 4 E-Tech electric, Renault Twingo E-Tech electric and Renault 5 Turbo 3E in a single immersive space for the first time in London.
Evans said: “Laying down a benchmark always adds a bit of pressure, but that’s part of the fun. I’m looking forward to getting behind the wheel and seeing what the simulator can do - if it captures even a fraction of what the real Renault 5 Turbo 3E delivers, it’s going to be incredible. Let’s see who’s up for the challenge!”
As with previous Maison activations, the Future Stores space has been transformed into a vibrant destination, where guests can explore Renault’s latest electric models up close, discover their key features through large-format digital displays, and enjoy a programme of live entertainment and interactive experiences.
David Isherwood, Marketing Director, Renault UK, said: “maison renault is all about bringing people closer to our cars in a way that’s engaging and relevant. Becky’s passion for driving, and her connection with a new generation of car enthusiasts make her the perfect person to set the time to beat on our Renault 5 Turbo 3E simulator, and we’re looking forward to seeing how many visitors take on the challenge and virtually experience the most powerful production car that Renault has ever made.”
Open from 18th–26th April at Future Stores, 95 Oxford Street, W1D 2AD, maison renault is expected to attract thousands of visitors across the week, combining culture, entertainment and electric innovation in the heart of London.
