  • This morning, the 60 members of the Car of the Year jury announced its seven finalists for

    the 2026 Car of the Year

  • After extensive testing of a 35-model strong longlist, the Dacia Bigster stood out from

    the crowd

    Bigster embodies the brand's vision for the C-SUV segment: a vehicle that combines simplicity, practicality and
    robustness, designed to meet the needs of customers seeking authenticity and the best value for money on the market.

    Launched in spring 2025, Bigster already had nearly 40,000 registrations worldwide at the end of September and more
    than 55,000 orders since its launch. This commercial start confirms the appeal of the family SUV across all European and
    Mediterranean markets.

    TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION AND ELECTRIFIED ENGINES
    Based on the CMF-B platform, Bigster benefits from latest-generation electrified engines, combining performance and
    efficiency:

    • Hybrid 155: a full hybrid system combining power, efficiency and driving pleasure, enabling up to 80% electric
    driving in the city.

    • Mild hybrid 140: 48V mild hybrid powertrain combining a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine with a 6-speed manual
    gearbox, offering efficiency, driving pleasure and a reduction of around 10% in fuel consumption and emissions
    compared to a combustion engine of equivalent power.

    • Mild hybrid-G 140: engine combining petrol/LPG dual fuel and 48V mild hybrid technology, offering greater
    efficiency, up to 1,450 km of range and 10% lower CO₂ emissions compared to an equivalent non-hybrid petrol
    engine, without compromising on boot space or comfort.

    • And the all-new hybrid-G 150 4x4 engine, which combines hybridisation and petrol/LPG dual fuel to offer up
    to 60% electric driving in the city, a WLTP range of 1,500 km, innovative electric all-wheel drive and a 6-speed
    dual-clutch automatic gearbox. A world first!

    Bigster's success is largely due to the popularity of the hybrid 155 version, which accounts for nearly 65% of sales.

    Bigster also helps reduce its environmental footprint through the use of recycled materials, including Starkle®, an
    innovative plastic made from 20% recycled materials and fully recyclable.

    As with the brand's other models, the YouClip system allows you to customise the interior with clever, modular accessories
    designed to simplify everyday life.

    the Year 2026 jury, joining the very select circle of seven finalists.

    The Car of the Year 2026 trophy will be awarded on 9 January 2026 in Brussels during the Motor Show.
